~CASES~

The CASES main screen (shown at left) allows the user to view all MAYSI-2 administrations. Each youth has his/her own case and by clicking on his/her name, the user will bring up all the MAYSI administrations for that individual. The user can then click on a MAYSI administration for that individual and the user can then select to create a report for that administration, to view the report, to view the youth's demographics, or to edit or view Second Screening forms.

If the user clicks Create Report or View Report, the youth's report for that MAYSI-2 administration will appear. If green flags appear at the top of the report (see image left), then that means that the case is critical according to the critical case requirements set by the facility. The green flags serve as an easy method of identifying cases that should receive follow up. The reports can be customized, but the default report lists all of the scales, as well as all of the answers. The report will always list Warning Scores first, then Caution, and the scores are in order by the highest to lowest. The Warning Scores are notated in red and the Caution Scores are listed in yellow. All Yes answers are in a bold font and have a (Y) adjacent to the item, whereas the No answers are not in bold and they have a (N) next to the item. All Yes answers will be listed first for each scale and all No answers will be listed second. All skipped answers will show a (?) next to the particular item, but skipped questions are always scored as 0, which is how No answers are scored.

If the user clicks the View Demographic Info button, the youth's demographic information will appear. The screen (shown left) will list the youth's name, age, race, birthdate, date of admission, date of MAYSI-2 administration, race(s), and current charge(s). The demographic information will differ for each MAYSI-2 administration, even if it is the same youth with a repeat MAYSI administration. The reports and Second Screening will be different for each administration as well.

If the user clicks enter/edit Second Screening, then the Second Screening Instructions will appear first explaining why the forms were created as well as the intended uses and purposes for Second Screening. These instructions are identical to the paper copies of the forms. After the first page of instructions, all the Second Screening forms that apply to the youth's particular case will appear, and for every youth who requires second screening, a summary form will appear at the end. For those youths whose scores do not meet the Second Screening cutoffs, there will not be any Second Screening forms available, but if the user wishes to Second Screen anyway, the administrator can print out blank forms for the user to use.

Shown to the left is the Second Screening form for Depressed-Anxious, any items that the youth answered YES for will receive a green check mark. The person asking the Second Screening questions can select his/her name from the drop down box as the person entering the form. Underneath each question is a blank box, where the user can type in the youth's answers. The Second Screening forms print out with the reports, so that the user can write the youth's answers down and later, at the user's convenience, enter the youth's second screening answers into the computer. Once finished entering all of the answers and completing the summary form, the user can save the form and later click the view Second Screening answers button and view and print the completed forms.
