~ADMINISTRATOR OPTIONS~

After clicking on the Administrator Options button in the Main Menu, the Administrator Options main screen will appear (see below for screenshot). In the body of the screen you will see a list of all MAYSI-2 Users (those staff members that will administer the MAYSI-2, or use MAYSIWARE in some capacity) and when a user is clicked on, the screen below the user list will show that particular user's access level (Start MAYSI-2, Cases, Admin Options), job position, and credentials. In this main Administrator Options screen, the administrator can also add, change, or delete MAYSIWARE users. Across the top of the Administrator Options screen is a row of icons, by clicking on icons, a drop down list will appear and the administrator can configure MAYSIWARE options, view national norms and site norms, export data, change facility info, customize reports, print blank second screening forms, remove the status/charges screen from the MAYSI-2, remove the Traumatic Experiences items from the MAYSI-2, check for updates, schedule automatic backups, exit to the main menu, quit the program, or customize critical cases.

Based on your facility's policy concerning MAYSI scores, your MAYSIWARE administrator can customize the criteria for a case to be labeled "Critical". If a case is identified to meet the Critical Case Criteria, then green "Critical Case " flags, located at the top of the youth's report, will alert the user that special attention should be paid to the youth's MAYSI-2 scores. The facility can decide whether two cautions or one warning, or a myriad of other options and combinations should result in the labeling of a critical case. The default is two or more cautions or one or more warnings, or a caution on the Suicide Ideation scale. If your facility does not alter the critical case criteria, the Critical Case flags will be based on the default criteria.

Also under the Administrator Options screen is the view norms function, which allows facilities to compare their own dynamic site norms with the static national norms that were found through the National Norm Study meta-analysis (Vincent & Grisso, William T. Grant Foundation). The norms are separated by gender and are specific to the type of facility that the administrator entered when setting up MAYSIWARE (i.e. detention, intake probation, corrections, or other). If the administrator had chosen other as a facility type, national norms are not available, but the facility will be able to view the dynamic site norms for their MAYSI-2 administrations. If the administrator not only wants to view norms for their facility type and gender, but by race as well, this is easily done; this option will give norms for girls in each different race category and for boys in each different race category, rather than lumping all of the races together. These norms can also be viewed by a specific date range and can be printed if the facility wishes to have hard copies of the bar graphs. The norms are formatted by percent above caution and percent above warning on each scale, except Traumatic Experiences. There are no norms for the Traumatic Experience scale, due to the absence of caution and warning cut offs for this particular scale. If facilities wish to analyze scores on the Traumatic Experience scale, they can do so by exporting the data to SPSS* (which is easily exported and automatically coded by MAYSIWARE) and running analyses.

* In order to view an exported SPSS file, you must have SPSS installed on your computer and have a valid and up-to-date license for the software. If you do not have SPSS, you can still export the data and save it as an SPSS file, but you will need to transfer the file to a computer that does have SPSS in order to view it.
